As a sleep -specialist I am increasing dismayed about those links because they heighten anxiety. Then there is the other research that links insomnia to the most dire medical consequences. whatever causes your insomnia there is always going to be one event 'where the rubber meets the road': The time when you are alone and faced with the fact that you are of two minds - one part of you desperately wants to sleep and another part vehemently prevents it. Both in your own mind. It is this adversarial relationship problem that needs addressing.
